Full Job Description

Position Summary:

Victory Wound Care is seeking a dependable LVN or RN to provide mobile wound care to patients throughout North Austin and surrounding Central Texas communities (Georgetown, Round Rock, Leander, Cedar Park, Marble Falls, and nearby areas).

Please read before applying: This is a field-based position. Clinicians travel directly to patient homes, assisted and independent living communities, and may spend a significant portion of the workday driving between patients.

Successful clinicians must be comfortable independently managing a changing patient schedule, estimating visit and travel times, and communicating proactively when circumstances affect the day's schedule.

Prior wound care experience is welcomed but not required. Much of the role-specific clinical training occurs on the job. We place greater importance on reliability, organization, communication, clinical judgment, willingness to learn, and consistently providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform scheduled mobile wound care visits throughout the assigned service area.

- Assess wounds and patient status and communicate clinically significant changes to the appropriate provider.

- Perform wound treatments including cleansing, dressing changes, ultrasonic debridement when appropriate and within scope, and other ordered wound care procedures.

- Educate patients, caregivers, and facility staff regarding wound care and prevention strategies.

- Coordinate care with advanced practice providers, home health agencies, facilities, caregivers, and other members of the patient's healthcare team.

- Proactively escalate questions, concerns, unexpected findings, or order discrepancies rather than allowing uncertainty to compromise patient care.

- Independently manage daily patient scheduling, visit duration, and travel time between appointments.

- Maintain reliable attendance and communicate promptly regarding delays or schedule changes.

- Complete accurate clinical documentation within 24 hours of each visit.

- Maintain compliance with company protocols and applicable state, federal, Medicare, and payer requirements.

- Participate in ongoing education and training regarding wound care standards and evidence-based treatment.

Scheduling and Documentation Expectations:

Patient schedules vary according to patient availability, geography, and clinician scheduling preferences. This flexibility requires clinicians to take ownership of their schedule and plan appropriately for both patient visit duration and travel time.

Some days may require documentation to be completed after 5:00 p.m. Regardless of when visits occur, clinical documentation must be completed within 24 hours so that the advanced practice provider can review the visit and necessary information can be communicated to home health agencies and other members of the care team.

Qualifications:

- Current, unrestricted Texas LVN or RN license.

- Ability to reliably travel throughout the assigned Central Texas service area.

- Comfortable working independently in patient homes and healthcare facilities.

- Strong organizational, time-management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Comfortable using electronic medical records and mobile communication technology.

- Wound care, home health, hospice, skilled nursing, or mobile healthcare experience preferred but not required.

- Willingness to learn wound care procedures and participate in ongoing training.

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to frequently carry supplies weighing up to approximately 10-15 pounds.

- Ability to perform patient care that may require bending, kneeling, and working near floor level.

Compensation and Scheduling:

- Full-time-equivalent compensation range of $64,000-$90,000 annually, depending on experience, availability, licensure, and schedule.

- Mileage reimbursement for mileage exceeding 45 miles in a single day.

- Full-time and part-time contract opportunities available.

- Flexible scheduling based on patient care needs and clinician availability.
