Franklin Savings Bank is seeking a detail-oriented and relationship-driven Portfolio Manager to join our Commercial Lending team. This role works under the guidance of the Vice President, Director of Commercial Credit Administration, and plays a key role in supporting Senior Leadership and Commercial Lenders in maintaining and growing strong client relationships.
The Portfolio Manager will analyze new lending opportunities, actively monitor the existing loan portfolio, participate in client interactions, and assist in the closing of commercial loans. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare comprehensive loan write-ups and financial analyses for commercial loans.
- Assess borrower financial performance, identify trends, evaluate repayment capacity, and analyze collateral and risk.
- Assist in gathering and packaging loan information for approval processes.
- Provide guidance to Commercial Lenders on appropriate loan structures based on credit risk considerations.
- Actively monitor assigned loan portfolio.
- Address complex loan servicing issues and support resolution efforts.
- Support the development and retention of client relationships through responsive and proactive service.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2–5 years of commercial underwriting and/or portfolio management experience and/or related training
- Strong financial analysis and credit evaluation skills
- Ability to identify trends, assess risk, and make sound recommendations
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
Location:
- This position is based in Rumford, ME
- This position can be in person or hybrid, working at least one day a week in our Rumford office
- All candidates must live in, or be willing to locate to, the state of Maine

Compensation:
The anticipated salary range for this role is $65,000-$80,000. Individual compensation decisions are based on several factors, including experience, job-related skills, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. This position is also eligible for applicable annual incentive compensation and company-sponsored benefits.
