Full Job Description

Animal Care Receptionist to handle client interactions, manage the front desk, schedule appointments, process payments, maintain pet and client records, and perform light animal care duties. An ideal candidate would posses excellent customer service skills, strong organizational skills, technical proficiency with electronic records and scheduling software, and a compassionate, positive attitude toward animals and people.

Client and Patient Management:
Greet and check-in clients and their pets warmly and courteously.
Answer phones, take messages, and handle client inquiries.
Manage and update client and pet records.
Schedule appointments for daycare, boarding, grooming, and treatments.
Administrative & Financial Duties:
Process payments for services and retail sales.
Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the front office area.
Handle mail, administrative supplies, and basic office functions.
Technical & Communication:
Utilize electronic systems and scheduling software.
Communicate effectively with clients, veterinarians, and other staff.
Animal Care (Depending on the facility):
Assist with handling animals during visits if needed.
Provide basic care for boarded or hospitalized animals, such as feeding or walking.

Required Skills & Qualities

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Customer Service: A positive, welcoming, and compassionate attitude toward clients and their animals.
Organization: Strong multitasking and organizational skills to manage a busy reception area.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with computers, scheduling software, and EMR systems.
Teamwork: The ability to work cooperatively and integrate with the veterinary team.
Problem-Solving: Critical thinking and flexibility to find solutions and keep operations running smoothly.
Knowledge: Familiarity with animal care and health practices.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
