About the Role

The Staff Accountant plays a vital role in maintaining the financial health of the organization by managing day-to-day accounting functions, performing account reconciliations, and supporting financial reporting and budgeting. This is a role for someone who is detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and looking to grow in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.

Key Responsibilities

Daily Accounting Operations: Assist with day-to-day accounting functions including cash and credit cards, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets and general ledger maintenance among other areas.
Reconciliations: Perform monthly account reconciliations and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
Journal Entries: Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper allocation of expenses and revenue to the appropriate accounts.
Financial Reporting: Assist with the preparation of financial statements, budgeting, and variance analysis.
Compliance: Work closely with the accounting team to ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies and procedures.
Audit & Tax Support: Assist with tax preparation, audits, and other regulatory filings as needed.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and provide support on accounting-related inquiries.
Process Improvement: Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounting department.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
Strong knowledge of GAAP
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with accounting software
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

By day 90, you are a reliable, fully productive member of the accounting team, contributing to close cycles on time and bringing a continuous improvement mindset to everything you touch.
