Senior Manager, Data Services
Role Description:
The Senior Manager, Data Operations is responsible for the day‑to‑day leadership, execution, and operational health of the Data Services function, ensuring reliable delivery, clear prioritization, and effective escalation management across client data environments.
This role partners closely with the VP of Data / Data Services leadership to translate strategy into execution, lead the data team, and resolve delivery, platform, and client issues before they escalate to the executive level.
The Senior Manager acts as the operational anchor for Data Services—owning outcomes, protecting service quality, and enabling the organization to scale data work predictably across multiple workspaces and clients.

1. Data Operations Leadership
- Coaches engineers and analysts to build the next generation of leaders
- Lead and manage the Data Services delivery team, ensuring accountability, performance, and clear role ownership.
- Set operational priorities across multiple client data workspaces, balancing delivery demands, capacity, and risk.
- Establish a culture of ownership, reliability, and proactive issue resolution.
- Provide thought leadership and innovative ideas by leveraging cutting edge technologies such as AI in providing advanced solutions to our customers.
2. VP Partnership & Strategic Execution
- Act as a strategic execution partner to the VP, translating high‑level goals into actionable plans.
- Provide visibility into:
- - Capacity constraints- Delivery risks- Workflow inefficiencies- Client and platform health
- Prepare data driven recommendations to support roadmap, investment, and staffing decisions
- Work closely with VP to develop a data business that can grow revenue3. Data Infrastructure & Operations

- Ensure SLAs, uptime and performance targets are met
- Monitor, maintain, and continuously improve the stability and performance of ETL pipelines, scheduled workflows, and automated data processes
- Oversee and triage incidents related to data pipelines, report failures, and integration issues — ensuring timely resolution and root cause documentation
- Manage and enforce data quality standards across all data flows, including validation, reconciliation, and exception handling
- Coordinate deployments and change management for data infrastructure updates (Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, reporting platforms)
- Maintain operational runbooks, pipeline documentation, and escalation procedures
4. Project Management
- Lead and coordinate data projects end-to-end — from requirements gathering and scoping through delivery and post-launch support
- Manage project timelines, track deliverables, and communicate status to internal stakeholders and clients
- Work cross-functionally with data engineers, report developers, and platform teams to prioritize and sequence work
- Identify risks, dependencies, and blockers early and proactively develop mitigation plans
5. Client Engagement & Support
- Serve as the primary point of contact for banking clients with data-related questions, requests, and issues
- Conduct requirements-gathering sessions with clients to understand reporting needs, data specifications, and integration expectations
- Translate business requirements into clear, actionable technical briefs for the engineering team
- Provide responsive, professional support when clients experience data discrepancies, report errors, or delivery failures
- Build strong client relationships through consistent communication, follow-through, and a solutions-oriented approach
6. Data Governance, Quality & Compliance
- Ensures data is trusted, secure, and compliant
- Familiar with compliance standards such as HIPPA, GDPR, SOC2
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Intangibles
Required
- 3+ years of experience in data operations, data management, or analytics engineering role
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools and data pipeline platforms (Azure Data Factory or equivalent)
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (Azure SQL, SQL Server, or similar)
- Demonstrated experience in client-facing or stakeholder-facing roles — comfortable leading meetings and presenting technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Experience managing or coordinating data-related projects with multiple workstreams
- Familiarity with BI and reporting tools (Power BI, SSRS, or similar)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferredo
- Exposure to cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Azure or Microsoft Fabric
- Familiarity with compliance and data governance frameworks (SOC 2, data retention policies, access controls)
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools for data workflows
- Project management certification (PMP, CAPM) or experience with formal project tracking methodologies

Pay: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
