Overview

Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medicare Specialist, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and insurance processes. In this vital role, you will navigate the complexities of Medicare billing, coding, and claims management to ensure accurate reimbursement and compliance. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help streamline medical billing operations, support healthcare providers, and enhance patient satisfaction. Responsibilities

Review and process Medicare claims using appropriate coding systems such as ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and DRG to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement.
Analyze medical records and documentation for completeness and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Utilize billing software, EMR (Electronic Medical Records), and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to manage patient information efficiently.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses, procedures, and coding details for precise claim submission.
Monitor healthcare claims management workflows from submission through payment, resolving any denials or discrepancies promptly.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health insurance policies, Medicare regulations, and medical coding standards to ensure compliance.
Provide exceptional customer service by addressing provider inquiries related to claims status, billing issues, or documentation requirements.

Requirements

Proven experience in medical billing or coding within a healthcare setting; prior medical office experience is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of Medicare policies, health insurance terminology, and healthcare claims management processes.
Proficiency in medical coding including ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT coding, DRG classification systems, and ICD coding standards.
Familiarity with billing software platforms and EMR/EHR systems used for medical records management.
Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail for accurate data entry and record keeping.
Ability to communicate effectively with providers, insurance companies, and patients in a professional manner.
Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with medical collection procedures is a plus.
