Winged Foot Golf Club

Mamaroneck, NY

Winged Foot Golf Club is a private club with two 18-hole golf courses located in Mamaroneck, New York.

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Seasonal Cooks to join our Culinary team. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves food, values teamwork, and thrives in a kitchen where high standards and quality are always the focus.

Passion for food and culinary arts
High standards with hygiene and food safety
Solid grasp of culinary fundamentals (knife skills, stocks, sauces, soups, cooking techniques)
Disciplined, punctual and reliable
Possess a sense of urgency

Position Summary:
The Seasonal Cook prepares, cooks, serves creative and innovative dishes under the direction of Sous Chefs and Director of Culinary.

Position Responsibilities:

Works well with team and communicates efficiently
Prepare dishes to standards consistently and timely
Organizes and prioritizes multiple projects to meet deadlines
Proactive, creative and flexible when it comes to problem solving
Practice safe and sanitary food handling and preparation procedures
Takes direction from Director of Culinary and Sous Chefs, asks questions when necessary
Maintains a clean, organized and hygienic station
Takes full responsibility over assigned station, completes prep needs and executes service
Follows recipes using appropriate measuring techniques
Performs other kitchen duties as assigned

Qualification Standards:

Food Handler’s certification is required
Must be able to cook orders as specified on the menu and to the member's request
Must be able to operate cooking equipment
Must be able to read and understand English and communicate with members in a professional manner
Must be able to use and read a food thermometer
Efficient and precise knife skills
Knowledge and appropriate application of fundamental cooking techniques
Reliable and punctual

Education:

High school diploma or GED
Culinary school preferred

Experience:

2 or more years working on the line
1 or more years fine dining club experience preferred

Physical Demands:

Long periods of standing and walking
Repetitive movement - Cutting, bending, squatting, stooping, scrubbing, pushing, pulling, stirring, reaching, lifting, sitting, writing

Grooming:
All employees must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Club standards. Professional business attire required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
