Full Job Description

Experienced Medical Front Office Team Member

Alpha Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is seeking an experienced, dependable, and patient-focused Front Office Team Member for our office in Prosper, Texas.

This is primarily a one-person front office position. The employee will independently manage both patient check-in and check-out, along with the other daily front office responsibilities. Additional front office assistance will be provided on designated higher-volume clinic days, but applicants must be comfortable working independently and managing the front desk without routine onsite support.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and customer-service skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and multitask in a busy medical office. Initial training will take place at our McKinney location.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Independently manage the daily front office operations at the Prosper location.

Handle both patient check-in and check-out.

Greet patients and visitors in a professional, courteous, and welcoming manner.

Schedule patient appointments by telephone and in person following office visits.

Match provider availability with patient preferences using the practice’s computerized scheduling system.

Accurately enter schedule changes, cancellations, and additions.

Verify insurance eligibility and benefits as needed.

Obtain authorizations for clinical procedures when required.

Explain applicable financial responsibilities to patients or responsible parties.

Collect copays and other patient payments as required.

Answer and appropriately direct telephone calls.

Communicate with providers and other staff regarding scheduling concerns and patient-related issues.

Notify management of scheduling, system, or operational problems.

Assist visitors and vendors and courteously screen solicitors.

Address patient questions and concerns calmly, respectfully, and professionally.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum of two years of scheduling or front office experience in a medical practice required.

Experience independently managing patient check-in and check-out strongly preferred.

Orthopedic experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

Able to work independently and confidently manage a front office without routine onsite assistance.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong customer-service and problem-solving abilities.

Able to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities with frequent interruptions.

Dependable, organized, self-directed, and detail-oriented.

Proficient with computerized scheduling and medical office systems.

Knowledge of insurance verification and prior authorization processes.

Able to recognize when an issue should be escalated to management or clinical staff.

Comfortable working independently while remaining connected to the larger practice team.

Position Details

Full-time position.

In-person position; remote work is not available.

Primary work location: Prosper, Texas.

Initial training location: McKinney, Texas.

Additional front office assistance is provided on designated higher-volume clinic days.
