What will your day look like?
As a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will:
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes, technologies, and techniques that improve product quality, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Create and maintain assembly procedures for printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) and cable assemblies
- Partner with new product development teams to provide Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) guidance
- Support product launches by developing manufacturing processes and preparing cost estimates, including non-recurring engineering (NRE) requirements
- Identify, specify, validate, document, and implement new manufacturing equipment and processes
- Evaluate and onboard production equipment to support manufacturing operations
- Design fixtures, tooling, and production equipment that improve efficiency, quality, and operator safety
- Provide technical oversight, training, and mentorship to manufacturing personnel and fellow engineers
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and drive corrective actions to improve yields, throughput, and process reliability
- Draft service, repair, and manufacturing documentation to support production operations
- Coordinate the implementation of product design changes and process improvements
- Collect, analyze, and report project and production data to stakeholders
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles
- Support manufacturing systems and processes to improve production rates, changeover times, quality, and overall operational performance
You will be a good fit for this role if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 7+ years of manufacturing process engineering experience
- Strong experience with printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA), including both through-hole and surface mount technologies
- Experience supporting PCBA testing, process optimization, and production troubleshooting
- Knowledge of manufacturing automation, machine controls, and electromechanical equipment
- Experience designing, assembling, and debugging automated or semi-automated manufacturing equipment
- Understanding of machine programming, I/O logic, and system troubleshooting
- Experience with 2D CAD design, electrical schematics, and assembly documentation
- Strong knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), validation methodologies, and process capability analysis
- Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), preferably FactoryLogix
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Experience using Microsoft Project for project planning and execution
- Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and leadership skills
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with selective soldering processes
- IPC certifications or formal IPC training, including IPC CID or related credentials
- Experience programming manufacturing equipment and production machinery
- PCBA design experience
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification or implementation experience
- Experience with advanced electronics manufacturing environments
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and technical teams
