Position Summary
As a Kitchen employee, it is your duty to ensure the accuracy and quality of each pizza (or any other food item) that goes through the oven and make sure that we are giving “As Good As Gold” product every time.
Line: This is our entry level kitchen position for the back of the house. Our pizzas have made us local heroes, and it all begins with you.
Prep: This position is responsible for providing our kitchen with fresh ingredients. Prep begins in the morning before other workers arrive to make sure that our restaurant will have ingredients that were prepared same day.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Line:
- Make pizzas, and other items, with the correct measurement of ingredients
- Make sure all food items are cooked properly to avoid food borne illnesses
- Memorize our menu to ensure speed and accuracy when making food
Prep:
- Make sure items are stored at the proper temperature to avoid food borne illness
- Thoroughly wash vegetables to remove and dirt and bacteria
- Carefully slice, dice, or cut vegetables to their proper portions
- Prepare raw chicken for use on pizza’s
- Make and Roll Dough
- Use equipment properly to ensure longevity and safety
All:
- Stock the bar with fresh ingredients
- Use the first in, first out method
- Wrap pizza skins with saran wrap to be placed in the walk-in
- Wash dishes (as necessary)
- Aerate dough to reduce bubbles
- Change trash bags
- Sweep periodically throughout the shift
- Mop the floors (if closing)
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Must be at least 18 years of age to use knives or electronic kitchen equipment
- California Food Handler Card (Required prior to first shift)
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
- Basic mathematical skills; ability to use weights and measures
- Knowledge of workplace safety procedures
- High energy and stamina are required
- Ability to stay calm and work efficiently under pressure
- Physical stamina to lift and carry heavy items (dishes, tubs, etc.)
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required
- Ability to maintain professional demeanor in high-stress situations

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is standing the entire shift. The employee frequently reaches, bends, stoops, lifts, shakes, stirs, pours, carries and pushes. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls in repetitive motions. The employee is frequently required to walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee occasionally lifts and carries tubs and cases weighing up to 75 pounds. The employee is occasionally exposed to hazards including, but not limited to cuts from knives, slipping, tripping, falls and burns; frequent exposure to smoke, steam, high temperatures, humidity, extreme cold; frequent contact/immersion of hands in water, sanitation solutions, meat products, poultry products, seafood and produce items and frequent washing of hands.
