Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior HVAC/MEP Project Manager to lead mechanical, electrical and plumbing projects across commercial construction portfolios. The role requires technical expertise in HVAC, piping and MEP systems, strong project management skills, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time, on budget, and to high quality and safety standards. The Senior Project Manager will be the primary client-facing lead, responsible for project planning, execution, risk management and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities

Lead planning, coordination and execution of commercial HVAC and MEP projects from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring scope, schedule and budget are met.

Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, engineers and internal stakeholders; maintain clear communication and manage expectations.

Develop and maintain project schedules, resource plans and budgets; track progress and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and issues.

Oversee design review, constructability, and coordination of HVAC, plumbing, piping and electrical systems to prevent conflicts and ensure code compliance.

Manage procurement and subcontractor selection, negotiate contracts, and oversee vendor performance and quality control.

Ensure strict adherence to safety, quality and regulatory requirements; lead safety meetings and enforce company safety standards on site.

Conduct regular site inspections, progress meetings and reporting; prepare and present project status updates and forecasts to senior leadership and clients.

Mentor and provide technical guidance to project engineers, superintendents and junior project managers; foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.

Implement best practices for cost control, change order management and project documentation; champion continuous improvement initiatives.

Coordinate commissioning, start-up and turnover activities, ensuring systems are tested, documented and handed over to owners with complete as-built records and O&M manuals.
Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

10+ years of progressive experience managing commercial HVAC/MEP projects, with at least 5 years in a senior project management role.

Proven technical knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, piping, MEP coordination and commercial electrical systems.

Strong experience in project budgeting, scheduling (MS Project or Primavera preferred), contract administration and construction field operations.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, lead cross-functional teams and deliver results under pressure.

Excellent client-facing, negotiation and communication skills; experience coordinating with engineers, architects and building owners.

Familiarity with building codes, mechanical/electrical standards, commissioning processes and quality control procedures.

Proficiency with construction management software, BIM coordination tools and Microsoft Office suite.

Relevant certifications preferred: PMP, CEM, NICET, or LEED AP; OSHA 30-hour or equivalent safety training.

Valid drivers license; willingness to travel to project sites as required.
