Job Description and Duties

Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).

**Effective July 1, 2025, specific Bargaining Units and associated Excluded State employees are subject to a salary reduction between 2% - 4.62% in exchange for hours in the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) per month. Under the direction of the Chief Engineer I, the Stationary Engineer works with fellow engineers, other trades people and inmate workers in repairing and maintaining the refrigeration, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and mechanical/electrical systems throughout Folsom State Prison.

Working Conditions

Folsom State Prison is located approximately 30 miles east of downtown Sacramento and just minutes from old town Folsom.

The grounds of the prison are surrounded by beautiful landscaping and friendly wild animals (deer, squirrels, turkeys, geese, etc.)

The position(s) require(s) a(n) EPA Universal Certificate. You will be required to provide a copy of your certificate prior to being hired.
