Full Job Description

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Payroll Clerk to join our dynamic finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for processing payroll accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with all relevant labor laws and tax regulations. Your expertise will help maintain smooth payroll operations, support employee benefits administration, and uphold the integrity of our financial records. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a collaborative environment where precision, timeliness, and compliance are paramount.

Responsibilities

Process payroll using various systems such as Quickbooks, Workday, ADP, Paychex, and other payroll software supported by the organization
Ensure accurate data entry for employee hours, wages, deductions, and benefits in time & attendance systems and HRIS platforms
Reconcile payroll accounts including general ledger entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and benefits administration records
Maintain compliance with employment law, labor law regulations, and tax law by preparing and submitting payroll taxes and reports timely
Support payroll management tasks such as journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, and payroll tax calculations
Assist with employee inquiries related to payroll processing, benefits, and tax documentation
Collaborate with human resources to ensure proper recordkeeping and adherence to labor law requirements

Requirements

Proven experience with payroll systems such as Quickbooks, Workday, ADP, Paychex, or similar platforms
Strong knowledge of employment & labor law, payroll processing procedures, and tax law compliance
Familiarity with accounting software including QuickBooks or other financial management tools
Proficiency in data entry with excellent attention to detail and accuracy (10 key typing skills)
Understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliation, debits & credits
Experience in benefits administration and non-profit or governmental accounting is a plus
Ability to analyze financial data accurately while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
