Job Description and Duties

This position is eligible to telework up to one (1) day a week, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required.This is subject to change based on operational need and/or future return to office orders. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Under direction of the Information Technology Supervisor II of the Statewide Procurement Oversight and Consulting Unit, within the Business Technology Management Domain, the IT Specialist I is responsible for independently providing complex analytical and consultative tasks for the Purchasing Authority Program. This position ensures purchasing authority is granted correctly and with integrity, in accordance with purchasing authority laws, state procurement laws, the State Contracting Manual and state agency's internal policies and procedures.

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code.

The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that my potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment and once per year.

Per CCR 249.3, this job control may be used to fill subsequent vacancies.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship by the start date of employment. The Department of General Services does not participate in E-Verify for employment authorization purposes.

Special Requirements
