Full Job Description

Job Title: Community Based Activity Therapists

Here at The NJ ECC, we take pride in our care for our individuals. Our agency works with adults that are 21 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and who are behavioral as well. We work with individuals that age out of their schools and are looking to continue to stay with a program.

Our Community Based Services Program works with individuals one to one in the home and in the community. We base our community work on the client's needs. Some clients work in the home only, others need to be taken to appointments, some want to even just go shopping or need a ride to our Day Programs. The schedule is tailored to meet the needs of our individuals, and can be flexible.

Highschool Diploma or GED required.
1-2 years experience in the social service field serving the intellectually disabled population, or Associate’s Degree, in related field.
Strong communication skills, awareness of advocacy needs, empathetic towards others, strong willingness to learn, concrete boundaries, and reliable.
Basic time keeping, reading, and math skills are required.
Clean driving record, with little or no points, able to produce a driving abstract at time of interview, and be able to drive a company van, following all NJ Motor Vehicles driving requirements.
CPR/1st Aid preferred, but willing to train. Crisis management also preferred but will train in house.
Must have reliable transportation; staff use their own vehicle and receive mileage reimbursement.
Valid NJ Driver’s License
The ability to climb stairs, check under furniture at floor level, and lift up to 50 pounds is required. The physical ability to assist in lifting may be required.
Required to pass a background check and record verification, as well as complete finger printing process prior to hire.**NJ ECC will train employees in CPR/1st Aid and Crisis Management

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $19.50 - $21.50 per hour
