Full Job Description

Star SU is a family owned, globally recognized, manufacturer of custom round tools and hobs. We are seeking a Technical Service Engineer to deliver best in class customer service. Our Service Engineers are trained in the construction of Star Brand of CNC tools and cutter grinder, ensuring customer satisfaction. The role is remote and will require travel approximately 50 – 100% of the time within North America and occasional travel to Europe.

Job Responsibilities

Installation and machine acceptance, customer training, repairs, maintenance, geometric alignment, software updates, as well as retrofits of Modul gear hobbing and deburring.
Interpretation of error messages and systematic troubleshooting and repair
Customer contact and support via phone, e-mail, and remote online communication to machine PC
Project management for large scale automotive installation
Identification of spare parts through troubleshooting and inspection
Cooperation in projects and technical support of the sales department
Some physical demands of the job are bending, climbing, lifting, pushing and pulling
Travel to the customer site to provide manufacturing support by troubleshooting and resolving complex technical problems.

Education and Experience:

Associate degree in mechanical or electrical field preferred.
Experience in a manufacturing / service environment.
Strong mechanical and electrical skills with proven ability to read and navigate blueprints, electrical schematics, etc.
Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues in an easy-to-understand manner.
Experience with control systems (NUM, FANUC, Siemens).
Experience with FANUC Robot systems is a plus.
Ability to communicate clearly with peers, management, and customers.
Strong work ethic with a focus on customer satisfaction.
Team-oriented attitude, ready to jump in and help where needed.
Valid Passport required.
A valid driver’s license and good driving record is required.
