Full Job Description

Region: Northwestern Vermont

Position: Risk Reduction Interventionist

Time: Part-time

Compensation will be determined by experience, education, and credentialing.

SUMMARY

Reentry Resources Counseling is seeking a motivated, career-oriented individual to join a seasoned team as a Risk Reduction Interventionist.

The Risk Reduction Interventionist is responsible for facilitating risk reduction curricula with individuals in the criminal justice system. Evidenced-based curriculum is used to help reduce risk of recidivism for individuals as they aim to transition back into communities from incarceration. The work will involve delivering risk reduction curricula in person and via technology when remote work is necessary. Curricula focuses on themes such as emotion regulation, problem-solving and social skill development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Provide individual and group services to individuals involved in the criminal justice system.

· Facilitate evidence-based risk reducing curriculum designated by the Vermont Department of Corrections.

· Maintain adherence to the fidelity of the designated model of delivery.

· Using the VTDOC electronic health record system, document services and important events in accordance with clinical policies for reporting and record keeping.

· Attend staff meetings and required trainings to ensure continuum and quality of care.

· Serve as a role model through positive, appropriate conduct and participation in special agency events.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Must be able to pass a criminal background check

· Must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of knowledge and experience. A degree in a human services field is preferred.

· Ability to work one-on-one with individuals and in groups.

· Ability to apply organizational management skills and maintain self and client discipline.

· Ability to prepare and maintain required documentation.

· Ability to comply with internal, local, state, and federal regulations and policies.

· Ability to work and communicate with others via telephone and through email.

· Ability to use an online meeting platform and learn about technology as necessary.

· Ability to work onsite in a prison setting.

· Knowledge or ability to learn about risk reduction modalities in the offender population.
