Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the billing process, ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims to insurance companies and patients. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to navigate medical records efficiently.

Duties

Review patient records to ensure all necessary information is complete for billing purposes.
Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies, ensuring compliance with all regulations and guidelines.
Utilize medical coding systems such as ICD-9, DRG, and other relevant codes for accurate billing.
Follow up on unpaid claims and manage medical collections as necessary.
Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients regarding billing inquiries.
Maintain organized records of all billing activities and ensure confidentiality of patient information.
Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices to ensure compliance.

Experience

Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred.
Familiarity with medical records management and electronic health record (EHR) systems is advantageous.
Proficiency in medical coding, including knowledge of ICD-9 codes and DRG classifications.
Strong understanding of medical terminology and billing processes.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
