Full Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in assisting occupational therapists in providing high-quality patient care within the homecare setting. The COTA will work closely with patients to help them achieve their rehabilitation goals through therapeutic activities and interventions.

Responsibilities

Assist occupational therapists in implementing treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
Provide direct patient care, ensuring safety and comfort during therapy sessions.
Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology to support effective treatment strategies.
Document patient progress and communicate updates to the occupational therapist.
Maintain an organized schedule and communication with patients.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary care discussions.
Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and home programs to enhance recovery.
Support patients in achieving their goals related to daily living activities, mobility, and overall function.

Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:

Previous experience in occupational health or a similar setting is preferred.
Familiarity with medical terminology related to patient care is essential.
Experience working in home health, skilled nursing facilities or inpatient environments is advantageous.
A strong understanding of anatomy and physiology as it relates to rehabilitation practices is required.
Demonstrated ability to assist patients effectively while promoting independence and dignity.
