Full Job Description

We are seeking a Full Time dynamic General Manager to lead our Pet Resort, to continue providing a welcoming, safe, engaging environment for pets and their owners. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional pet care standards, and foster a motivated team dedicated to animal well-being in all departments. Daycare, Boarding and Grooming. Your leadership will drive the success of our pet care facility by maintaining our high-quality of service, ensuring cleanliness and safety, and delivering outstanding customer experiences.

Responsibilities

Scheduling ensuring adequate coverage while managing labor budgets & maximizing profits
Oversee all day to day operations
Managing of our different teams - Daycare, Kennel, Front Desk, Groomers & Trainer
Work closely with all team heads or Supervisors
Ensure all SPR Practices & Policies are followed
Develop & implement new practices or strategies for growth, productivity & efficiency
Hire, Mentor, Motivate, Evaluate, Promote and build the most effective teams
Builds Client Relationships - making sure all of our clients get the same consistent Ritz Carlton experience each and every time they call or come in
Communicates goals of the resort & provides direction to the team
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment
Problem solve & conflict resolution
Quality Assurance & Control (QC) - to ensure consistent service delivery & identify any issues
Team Leadership and bridging the gap between staff & owner
Ensures compliance with legal & safety standards on the property and relating to the animals and staff
Animal Care and Welfare: Ensure the proper health, appearance, welfare, and proper handling of all animals in accordance with company standards and local regulations.
Customer Service: Ensure an exceptional customer experience by training staff on product knowledge, resolving complaints, and fostering customer loyalty.
Safety and Maintenance: Maintain the facility's appearance, ensure a safe environment for pets, guests, and employees, and address all maintenance needs and safety procedures.
Ability to work a full-time schedule, including evenings, weekends & Holidays and be on call for emergencies.

Experience

Experience: Background in hospitality, retail, restaurant, or veterinary management are highly preferred. Hands-on pet care or pet resort experience is a strong plus.
Business Operations: Must have strong Profit and Loss (P&L) management abilities, proficiency with point-of-sale systems, and a working knowledge of the G Drive
Physical & Schedule Demands: Ability to work a flexible schedule (45 to 50 hours a week) including evenings, weekends, and holidays, along with the physical capacity to spend up to 100% of the workday standing and moving around the facility.
Leadership & Community: Must be able to hire, train, develop & manage staff, manage workplace change, and build relationships
Front & Back of House: Comfort transitioning between administrative duties and hands-on operational work (e.g., cleaning, handling dogs).
Pet Care (Preferred): Hands-on experience with animal behavior, kennel operations, or veterinary is highly preferred.
Labor Optimization: Success in managing payroll percentages and adjusting staff schedules based on seasonal occupancy.
People Leadership: Minimum 3 years of experience hiring, scheduling, and training staff.
Performance Management: Proven history of conducting staff evaluations and managing workforce conflicts.
Team Scaling: Experience supervising teams of 15 to 40 shift employees.
