Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Contract Senior Family Law Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team on a contractual basis. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support in family law cases, ensuring efficient case management and meticulous legal documentation. Your expertise will help facilitate smooth legal processes, support attorneys in complex family law matters, and uphold the highest standards of professionalism and accuracy. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful cases while honing your paralegal skills within a collaborative environment.

Duties

Assist attorneys with all phases of family law cases, including divorce, child custody, spousal support, and related proceedings.
Prepare and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, discovery requests, and settlement agreements with precision.
Conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other research tools to support case strategies.
Manage case files efficiently using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw; ensure all records are accurate and up-to-date.
Interview clients, witnesses, and other parties to gather essential information for case development.
Coordinate court filings, schedule hearings, and track deadlines to ensure timely submissions.
Perform document review and proofreading to maintain high-quality standards in all legal documentation.
Support administrative tasks including data entry, filing, transcription, and maintaining organized case databases.
Conduct legal research across various practice areas such as estate planning, environmental law, UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, securities law, landlord-tenant law, immigration law, general & commercial litigation.
Provide executive administrative support as needed to attorneys and team members to streamline workflow.

Experience

Proven paralegal experience supporting family law cases with a strong understanding of procedural law knowledge.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with excellent organizational skills.
Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis; familiarity with document management systems like iManage or PCLaw is preferred.
Experience in drafting legal documents with strong writing skills; attention to detail in proofreading and transcription is essential.
Knowledge of various practice areas including estate planning, environmental law, UCC law, tribal regulations, patent law, personal injury case experience, securities law, landlord-tenant issues, immigration law, workers’ compensation law, general litigation.
Strong clerical skills including filing, data entry, phone etiquette and administrative support experience.
Ability to conduct effective interviews and perform comprehensive legal research to support case development.
Familiarity with procedural laws across different jurisdictions enhances the ability to navigate complex cases efficiently.
