General Overview

The Kitchen Manager is responsible for all back-of-house food service operations within the DASH QSR and reports directly to the General Manager. This role provides hands-on leadership, ensures food safety and quality standards, controls food margins, and develops high-performing kitchen teams. Managers must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

Essential Job Functions

Lead daily kitchen and food production operations
Ensure consistent execution of recipes, portioning, and prep standards
Deliver safe, high-quality food through strict sanitation and food safety practices
Train, coach, and develop kitchen team members
Monitor food prep levels to meet demand without excess waste
Control food costs, waste, and inventory accuracy
Order product and conduct inventory counts
Maintain kitchen cleanliness, organization, and equipment standards
Address and resolve food-related guest concerns
Complete required logs, checklists, and food safety documentation
Communicate and follow up on kitchen maintenance needs
Support scheduling and labor efficiency within kitchen operations
Assist with coverage for callouts or emergencies as needed
Ensure compliance with all company policies, laws, and regulations

Basic Qualifications & Physical Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; secondary degree preferred
Minimum of 5 years food service & 2 years kitchen leadership experience (QSR preferred)
21 years of age or older
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Verifiable work history
Strong attention to detail and food quality standards
Willingness to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
Strong English communication skills (speak, read, write, hear)
Ability to safely lift up to 55 lbs. and carry short distances
Ability to stand and walk for 8+ consecutive hours
Ability to bend, reach, kneel, grasp, and climb step ladders
Ability to work in varying temperatures, including coolers and freezers
Ability to accurately use tablets and touch screens
Basic math skills for inventory and food cost controls
Basic computer proficiency including email and reporting tools
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced food service environment
Ability to pass a pre-hire drug screening and background check

Preferred: Manager Food Handler Certification
