Who We Are
Tech Remove gives old technology a second life.
Every day, businesses, schools, manufacturers, municipalities, and community recycling events trust us with thousands of pounds of electronics. Some equipment is refurbished and resold. Some is harvested for parts. Some is responsibly recycled.
Behind all of that activity is a growing business with thousands of financial transactions that tell the story of our operations.
We're looking for someone who enjoys bringing order to complexity.
If spreadsheets, accounting systems, and perfectly balanced books make you smile, you'll probably fit right in.
About This Internship
This isn't your typical bookkeeping internship.
We're looking for someone to help us complete a very specific accounting project.
Over the past year, we've meticulously categorized and coded our financial transactions into organized spreadsheets. Now we need a QuickBooks expert to help import that data, reconcile it, and build clean financial records that support Profit & Loss reporting, Balance Sheets, and tax preparation.
This project is perfect for an accounting student, experienced bookkeeper, or QuickBooks power user who enjoys solving data problems and building efficient financial systems.
What You'll Do
Your primary mission will be helping migrate our accounting records into QuickBooks.
Projects may include:
- Importing large volumes of transaction data into QuickBooks.
- Mapping spreadsheet fields for accurate CSV imports.
- Cleaning and validating accounting data before import.
- Reconciling imported transactions.
- Reviewing account classifications and coding.
- Assisting with monthly Profit & Loss reporting.
- Preparing Balance Sheet reports.
- Organizing financial records for CPA tax preparation.
- Identifying discrepancies and correcting accounting errors.
- Creating repeatable import procedures for future bookkeeping.
- Helping improve our accounting workflows and documentation.
Think of yourself as an accounting detective, data analyst, and QuickBooks guru rolled into one.
What We're Looking For
You don't need to know everything. We need help importing and translating our coding into Quickbooks coding.
But you should be comfortable learning new systems and solving problems.
You may be a great fit if you have experience with:
- QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop
- Importing Excel or CSV files into Quickbooks
- Microsoft Excel
- Bookkeeping
- Accounting
- Financial reporting
- Bank reconciliations
- Cleaning and organizing large spreadsheets
- Accounting coursework or degree in progress
Experience with inventory, logistics, distribution, manufacturing, or warehouse businesses is a plus—but not required.
What Makes You Successful Here
You'll probably enjoy this internship if you:
- Love organizing data.
- Notice details that others miss.
- Like solving puzzles.
- Enjoy making messy information organized.
- Think spreadsheets are fun.
- Appreciate efficiency and automation.
- Can work independently.
- Like building systems that make everyone's job easier.
- Enjoy seeing everything reconcile perfectly.
If you've ever opened a spreadsheet with thousands of rows and thought...
"This is going to be fun."
...we'd like to meet you.
Internship Duration
This is a project-based internship for the month of August 2026.
The objective is to complete our QuickBooks migration, verify the accuracy of imported accounting records, and prepare the company for financial reporting and tax preparation.
Outstanding interns may be considered for ongoing part-time bookkeeping or accounting opportunities. You'll leave the internship with an exceptional recommendation.
Schedule
- Flexible scheduling
- Approximately 10–25 hours per week
- Monday–Friday
- Business hours between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM
Compensation
Competitive $20 hourly pay.
This internship may qualify for students pursuing Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related degrees.
