Position Summary:
The Lead Generation Specialist is responsible for creating new business opportunities for Doering Company by identifying, researching, and qualifying prospective OEM, distributor, and industrial customers. This role is focused exclusively on outbound prospecting and lead generation—not closing sales.
Working closely with the Sales & Application teams, the Lead Generation Specialist will introduce Doering Company's capabilities, identify customer applications, qualify opportunities, and schedule meetings for Sales & Applications to further develop. This position plays a key role in expanding Doering's presence in the gas/oil, aerospace, trailers/heavy equipment, and industrial hydraulic markets by maintaining a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Prospecting & Lead Generation
- Research target industries, OEMs, distributors, and equipment manufacturers that utilize hydraulic components.
- Identify key decision makers including Engineering, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Operations, and Product Management contacts.
- Conduct outbound prospecting through telephone calls, email campaigns, LinkedIn, and other professional networking tools.
- Generate qualified leads by identifying companies with applications that align with Doering Company's products and manufacturing capabilities.
- Schedule introductory meetings and product discussions for the Sales team.
- Maintain consistent follow-up with prospective customers until opportunities are qualified or disqualified.
Market Research
- Identify new markets and industries where Doering's products may provide value.
- Research competitor activity and industry trends.
- Build target account lists based on strategic growth initiatives.
- Support trade show follow-up and marketing campaigns by contacting prospective customers.
CRM & Pipeline Management
- Maintain accurate prospect information and activity history within the CRM.
- Document customer applications, contacts, and follow-up activities.
- Keep prospect records current and organized.
- Provide weekly pipeline updates and activity reports.
Collaboration
- Work closely with Sales to transition qualified opportunities.
- Collaborate with Engineering when technical applications require additional information.
- Coordinate with Marketing on lead generation campaigns and customer outreach.
- Participate in weekly sales meetings to review activity and pipeline progress.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or a combination of education and experience.
- Two or more years of business development, lead generation, inside sales, customer service, or related experience preferred; experience in B2B product sales preferred.
- Manufacturing, hydraulic or industrial experience strongly preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional, consultative approach.
- Comfortable initiating conversations with prospective customers.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Self-motivated and goal oriented, with demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Ability to quickly learn and articulate technical product details to match customer needs.
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to assist Customer Service and other internal teams to ensure organizational success.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, ERP systems and CRM (Constant Contact or similar) software.

Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
