Engagement: 1 to 3 months (short-term contract)

A Calling in Paradise

Have you spent your life pouring into others through Christian behavioral health, spiritual direction, or biblical counseling? Are you now in a season of retirement with the gift of time, wisdom, and a heart that still wants to minister?

Sanctuary Clinics is inviting seasoned Christian clinicians and spiritual leaders to serve alongside us in Cozumel, Mexico — one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean. This is a unique opportunity to combine meaningful ministry with the rest, beauty, and adventure of island life.

You'll work with clients walking through trauma, addiction, and substance-use recovery in a setting that is as restorative for the caregiver as it is for those being cared for.

What You'll Do

- Provide **individual sessions** with clients in our residential and PHP programs

- Lead or co-facilitate **group sessions** focused on spiritual formation, biblical counseling, or clinical recovery topics

- Offer pastoral presence, prayer, and spiritual direction to clients seeking faith-integrated care

- Collaborate informally with our clinical team — **no administrative duties, no compliance paperwork, no management responsibilities**

This role is designed to let you do what you love most — sit with people and minister — without the weight of program oversight.

What We're Looking For

We welcome a wide range of backgrounds. You may be a fit if you have one or more of the following:

- Ordained minister or certified Spiritual Director

- Biblical counselor (ACBC, CCEF, AACC, or equivalent training)

- Licensed or retired clinician — LMFT, LCSW, LPC, LMHC, PsyD, PhD, MD, or similar

- A lifetime of service in Christian behavioral health, pastoral care, or recovery ministry

What We Provide

- $2,000–$3,000 USD monthly stipend, based on experience and credentials

- Fully covered room and board in comfortable accommodations

- Airport pickup and drop-off at either Cozumel (CZM) or Cancún (CUN) International Airport

- A light clinical load with late weekday start times

- Weekends completely free to explore, rest, and enjoy the island

- A warm, mission-driven team and a Christ-centered work environment

Required:

-A mature, evangelical Christian faith and a heart for those struggling with trauma and addiction

- Strong interpersonal and listening skills

- Willingness to commit to a **1–3 month** stay in Cozumel

- U.S. citizen or resident with a valid passport
