All of our testing, filming, and writing happens at our headquarters in St. George, Utah. As the e-bike industry explodes, we are looking for a passionate, detail-oriented Reviewer and On-Camera Host to join our in-house editorial team.
The Role
This role is a 50/50 split between written editorial content and on-camera video hosting. You will ride, test, and live with the newest e-bikes on the market—primarily focusing on the sub-$2,000 lifestyle, commuter, and recreational categories.
Important Note: You do not need to be a hardcore mountain biker, a lycra-wearing road racer, or an absolute expert on electric motors to thrive in this role. We are looking for someone who simply loves bicycles, understands bike components, and is highly relatable to the everyday consumer looking to buy their first e-bike.
Key Responsibilities
- Video Hosting (50%): Serve as the face of our YouTube channel for specific reviews, 'best of' roundups, and educational content. You must be comfortable speaking clearly and enthusiastically on camera.
- Written Content (50%): Translate hands-on testing data into engaging, accessible, and comprehensive written product reviews and buyer’s guides.
- Hands-on Testing: Conduct standardized, repeatable tests on e-bikes (range tests, hill climbs, brake tests, and handling assessments) at our St. George facility.
- Consumer Translation: Break down bicycle components and specifications into easy-to-understand, real-world benefits for our audience.
- Occasional Mechanical Assembly: Unbox, assemble, and perform basic maintenance on bicycles when our in-house mechanic is busy or not in the office.
Required Qualifications
- Bicycle Knowledge: A solid foundational understanding of bicycles and components. (Specific e-bike experience is a bonus, but general bicycle knowledge is a must).
- On-Camera Comfort: Proven ability or strong potential to host engaging video content.
- Writing Chops: Impeccable grammar, a strong editorial voice, and the ability to meet consistent publishing deadlines.
- Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to St. George, UT. (We need you here with the bikes!)
- Bike Shop Mechanic Experience: not required, but is a plus.
Compensation & Experience Levels
- Entry-Level ($55,000/year): Ideal for someone with a strong passion for bikes, great on-camera potential, and solid writing skills, but who may lack formal editorial experience in the cycling industry.
- Experienced ($60,000 - $80,000/year): Reserved for candidates with 2 to 4+ years of proven experience working as a writer, editor, journalist, or reviewer specifically within the bicycle industry.
