Galt Advocacy is looking for a creative, bilingual (English/Spanish) Media & Content Specialist who can help us educate California families about services available for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, Down syndrome, dementia, and other special needs.
This is much more than a social media job. The person we hire will become the face behind educational videos that help thousands of California families understand programs such as IHSS, Regional Center services, Medi-Cal, special education, and other state resources.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys both being on camera and working behind the scenes editing, organizing, and publishing content.
If you are creative, dependable, self-motivated, and love making complicated topics easy to understand, we’d love to meet you.
Responsibilities
- Appear confidently on camera for educational videos in both English and Spanish.
- Record short-form and long-form video content.
- Edit videos for YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and other social media platforms.
- Design basic graphics and thumbnails.
- Schedule and publish content across multiple social media platforms.
- Maintain an organized content calendar and posting schedule.
- Work with our team to develop new educational topics and campaigns.
- Monitor engagement and recommend ways to improve reach.
- Keep digital media files organized.
- Ensure all published content is accurate, professional, and aligned with our mission.
Required Qualifications
- Fluent in both English and Spanish (spoken and written)
- Excellent communication skills
- Comfortable speaking in front of a camera
- Experience editing video content
- Experience using a variety of social media platforms
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Reliable and detail-oriented
- Ability to meet deadlines consistently
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Canva, Opus Clips, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, or similar editing software
- Experience managing multiple social media platforms
- Experience creating short-form social media content
- Experience writing engaging captions and headlines

Schedule
- Approximately 20 hours per week to start
- Flexible scheduling
- Friday in office filming days required
- Opportunity for additional hours and pay as the position grows
