Overview

Join our team as the Head Fudge and Candy Maker, where your passion for creating delectable sweets will shine! In this energetic leadership role, you will oversee the entire candy-making process, from crafting rich, smooth fudge to designing eye-catching confections. Your expertise will ensure every batch meets our high standards of quality, flavor, and presentation. This position offers a dynamic environment where innovation, culinary skill, and attention to detail come together to delight customers and elevate our brand.

Responsibilities

Lead the preparation and production of a variety of fudge and candy products, ensuring consistency and quality in every batch.
Manage all aspects of food handling, including measuring ingredients accurately and adhering to recipe specifications.
Oversee packaging processes to ensure products are attractively presented and properly sealed for freshness.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace by implementing strict sanitation and safety protocols in accordance with food safety standards.
Supervise kitchen operations, including operating commercial kitchen equipment such as mixers, tempering machines, and cutters.
Ensure high-volume production runs smoothly while adhering to food safety management practices and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with the team to develop new recipes and improve existing products based on customer feedback and industry trends.
Uphold excellent customer service standards by ensuring product quality aligns with customer expectations.

Requirements

Proven experience in food production, pastry or baked goods preparation, with a strong background in confectionery or candy making.
Skilled in operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently within a fast-paced environment.
Strong knife skills combined with knowledge of food safety management practices.
Ability to follow detailed recipes precisely while maintaining consistency across large batches.
Basic math skills for measuring ingredients accurately and managing inventory effectively.
Excellent organizational skills to maintain a clean workspace and ensure compliance with health regulations.
Customer service orientation with a positive attitude toward teamwork and collaboration.

We’re dedicated to fostering an inspiring workplace that values creativity, precision, and enthusiasm.

Free employee housing on Mackinac Island, or on the mainland. Will also consider training the right candidate if no Fudge/Candy experience.

Looking for someone to finish the Season, end of October 2026, then, beginning again end of April 2027 through October 2027, and each season afterwards. Five days per week.

Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
