Position Summary
The Quality Technician is responsible for monitoring and verifying product quality throughout the injection molding process. This position performs inspections, conducts audits, collects and analyzes quality data, and supports corrective actions to ensure compliance with customer, ISO, and company requirements. The Quality Technician works closely with Production, Tooling, Engineering, and Maintenance to identify and resolve quality concerns while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections to ensure products conform to customer drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Conduct dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Complete and maintain inspection records, audit documentation, and quality reports.
- Perform product, process, and system audits as assigned.
- Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming material and initiate containment activities.
- Assist with root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Support Production personnel by communicating quality concerns and recommending process improvements.
- Assist with customer complaint investigations and internal quality investigations.
- Participate in internal and external ISO audits and support compliance with quality management system requirements.
- Collect, analyze, and report quality data to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Train and mentor production personnel on quality standards and inspection techniques as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Participate on cross-functional teams and perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Lead.
Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Preferred
- Three or more years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
- Injection molding manufacturing experience.
- Experience in an ISO-certified manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 quality systems.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
- Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and basic statistical analysis.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 10 hours).
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Ability to distinguish colors and identify minor product defects.
- Ability to use hand tools and measuring instruments with precision.
- Occasional overtime may be required to support production demands.
