Your First Job in Senior Living Doesn't Have to Start With Healthcare Experience.
Maybe you've worked in a restaurant.
Maybe you've worked retail.
Maybe you're a student looking for a Part-Time job.
Maybe you're returning to the workforce and want something with consistent hours.
Or maybe you're simply looking for a friendly workplace where your job actually means something to the people around you.
At Elmore Assisted Living, we're hiring a Part-Time Dietary Aide to help make mealtime one of the best parts of our residents' day.
No healthcare experience required.
If you're dependable, friendly, willing to learn, and comfortable staying busy, we'll teach you the rest.

You Don't Have to Be a Cook to Be an Important Part of the Kitchen
Our Dietary Aides help keep everything moving.
You'll help prepare the dining room before meals, assist with basic food preparation, serve residents, clear tables, wash dishes, restock supplies, and make sure everything is ready for the next meal.
But there's another part of the job that's just as important.
You'll get to know the people you're serving.
You'll learn who always wants coffee.
Who looks forward to dessert.
Who has a favorite meal.
Who wants to chat for a few minutes when you stop at their table.
In senior living, great dining service is about more than putting food on a plate.
It's hospitality.
What You'll Be Doing
- Set up dining rooms and tables for meal service.
- Serve meals and beverages to residents.
- Provide friendly, attentive service throughout meals.
- Assist cooks with basic food preparation and portioning.
- Follow resident meal instructions and dietary requirements.
- Clear tables and wash dishes after meals.
- Restock food, beverages, utensils, and kitchen supplies.
- Maintain clean and organized kitchen, dining, preparation, and storage areas.
- Follow food handling, sanitation, and infection-control procedures.
- Help create a dining room residents look forward to visiting every day.
Your Experience Might Translate Better Than You Think
We'd especially like to hear from people with backgrounds in:
- Restaurants or Fast Food.
- Coffee Shops.
- Retail.
- Grocery Stores.
- Customer Service.
- Hospitality.
- School Food Service.
- Healthcare Food Service.
- Senior Living.
- Dietary Services.
Previous professional food-service experience is helpful, but it's not required for the right person.
What Matters Most to Us
We're looking for someone who:
- Shows up when they're scheduled.
- Is friendly and comfortable interacting with older adults.
- Takes pride in keeping things clean and organized.
- Can stay productive during busy meal periods.
- Works well with others.
- Is willing to learn.
- Understands that good customer service matters at any age.
- Can meet the every-other-weekend and rotating-holiday requirements.
Make Someone's Day Without Even Realizing It
Sometimes it's remembering someone's drink.
Sometimes it's noticing they're excited about what's for lunch.
Sometimes it's stopping at their table for an extra 30 seconds because they clearly want to talk.
Those things may seem small.
To the person you're serving, they might not be.
That's what makes working in senior living different from a traditional restaurant or food-service job.
Elmore Assisted Living is part of Sunflower Communities, a Minnesota-based senior living organization focused on creating communities where older adults feel comfortable, respected, and at home.
If you're looking for a Part-Time daytime position, consistent hours, a welcoming team, and a job where people appreciate seeing you walk into work, we'd love to meet you.
