Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pipe Layer to join our construction team and contribute to the successful installation of underground utility systems. In this role, you will be responsible for laying pipes for water supply only. Your expertise in heavy equipment operation, blueprint reading, and utility trenching will ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to exact specifications. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse utility installation projects that make a real impact on community infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to excavate trenches and prepare sites for pipe installation
Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately follow project specifications
Install underground utilities including water supply systems.
Use pipe lasers and other precision tools to ensure proper alignment and elevation of pipes during installation
Conduct utility locating to identify existing underground utilities before trenching or excavation begins
Follow all safety regulations including federal construction safety standards and site-specific safety protocols during heavy equipment operation and trenching activities
Perform construction trenching with attention to detail, ensuring proper bedding and backfilling of pipes according to project requirements

Skills

Proficient in heavy equipment operation including dozer, loader, backhoe, excavator, and front loader truck
Skilled in pipe installation techniques for water systems,
Experienced in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings for construction projects
Knowledgeable about utility locating methods and underground utility safety procedures
Familiar with construction site safety regulations including federal standards and OSHA guidelines
Ability to operate hand tools effectively for trenching, pipe fitting, and system connections
Understanding of wastewater systems, sanitary drainage systems, stormwater management systems, and pipeline installation processes
