Fleet & Retail Sales Specialist

Sound Connection – Waite Park, Minnesota
Full-Time | Monday–Friday
Expected First-Year Earnings: $55,000–$65,000

Sound Connection is looking for an energetic, outgoing sales professional who is comfortable meeting new people, starting conversations and creating business opportunities.

This is not a position for someone who wants to sit behind a counter and wait for customers to walk through the door.

This position is approximately 50% inside sales and 50% outside sales, with a major emphasis on developing fleet and commercial business throughout Central Minnesota.

You will introduce Sound Connection to contractors, plumbers, electricians, HVAC companies, municipalities and other organizations that operate work vehicles. You will also assist retail customers with vehicle audio, electronics, window tint, truck accessories and other vehicle-enhancement solutions at our Waite Park location.

What You’ll Do

Prospect for new fleet and commercial customers.
Visit local businesses and meet with owners and decision-makers.
Build and manage a strong list of fleet opportunities.
Attend networking functions, trade shows and community events.
Develop long-term relationships that generate repeat business.
Assist retail customers at our Waite Park location.
Recommend vehicle audio, electronics, tint, truck accessories and fleet-upfitting solutions.
Prepare estimates and follow up consistently.
Coordinate projects with all three Sound Connection locations.
Maintain accurate customer and opportunity information.

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is:

Energetic, outgoing and confident meeting new people.
Comfortable walking into an unfamiliar business and starting a conversation.
Professional in appearance, communication and follow-through.
Self-motivated and able to create opportunities without waiting for leads.
Organized, persistent and comfortable managing long-term relationships.
Interested in vehicles, electronics, work trucks or vehicle accessories.
Willing to travel throughout Central Minnesota.
Available for occasional evening networking functions, trade shows and special events.

Previous sales experience is valuable, but industry experience may be equally valuable. Experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, construction, contracting, automotive, fleet, equipment or related trade industries is strongly preferred.

We can teach our products and systems. We need someone who knows how to connect with people, build trust and ask for the business.

Compensation and Benefits

Guaranteed salary plus uncapped commission.
Expected first-year earnings of approximately $55,000–$65,000.
