Position Overview

Erbert & Gerbert's in Anoka is looking for a motivated and dependable General Manager in Training who is ready to take ownership of restaurant operations and develop into a successful General Manager.

This is not simply a shift-management position. We are looking for someone who wants to lead a store, develop a team, drive sales, control costs, and take responsibility for day-to-day operations.

The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, proactive, and capable of solving problems without needing constant supervision.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Learn and eventually oversee all day-to-day restaurant operations
Recruit, interview, hire, train, and develop employees
Build and maintain effective weekly employee schedules
Ensure the restaurant is properly staffed for all operating hours
Plan ahead for staffing shortages, employee call-offs, vacations, and other coverage needs
Develop shift leaders and employees who can operate effectively without constant supervision
Maintain excellent customer service and resolve customer concerns
Manage food preparation, product quality, cleanliness, and food safety
Complete inventory and assist with truck orders
Monitor food costs, waste, labor, and other controllable expenses
Help increase restaurant sales and improve overall store performance
Maintain accurate cash-handling and deposit procedures
Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed correctly
Hold employees accountable to company policies and performance expectations
Communicate operational and staffing concerns to ownership before they become emergencies
Step in and lead when unexpected situations occur
Create a positive, productive, and accountable workplace culture

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

Has restaurant, retail, hospitality, or similar management experience
Has experience supervising and developing employees
Is dependable and takes ownership of their responsibilities
Understands that management requires planning ahead, not simply reacting to problems
Has strong communication and organizational skills
Can make good decisions independently
Is comfortable holding employees accountable
Can handle a fast-paced restaurant environment
Understands scheduling and labor management
Is willing to work evenings and weekends when necessary
Has reliable transportation
Is looking for a long-term management opportunity

Restaurant General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Shift Manager, Restaurant Manager, or similar leadership experience is preferred.

Compensation

$44,000–$54,000 per year

Starting compensation will be based on management experience and qualifications.

This position begins as General Manager in Training, allowing you to learn our restaurant, systems, team, and operating standards before assuming full General Manager responsibilities.

Performance and advancement will be evaluated based on areas including:

Leadership
Reliability
Staffing and employee retention
Scheduling
Communication
Labor management
Food cost and waste
Customer service
Store cleanliness
Sales performance
Overall restaurant operations

Who Will Succeed in This Position
