Full Job Description

Responsibilities:

Assists Front Line Leader in training and leading other associates.
Communicates important information for safety and quality among FLS’s, associates, and other shifts.
Supports department goals for safety, quality, and production.
Sets up lathes, machining centers, and robots. Performs tool changes as required and verifies all dimensions using appropriate measuring instruments and gauges.
Enters and edits machine programs at the auto cells. Set-up parameters by completing appropriate check sheets.
Operates and maintains the Henry coolant and Ultra filter systems and records pertinent data on S.P.C. and other check sheets.
Performs cleaning, preventive maintenance, checks of fluid levels, minor repairs, and adjustments for all machining department equipment and processes.
Performs regular spot-checks of equipment to ensure proper and continuous functioning.
Collects and documents data for quality checks at designated intervals
Performs the basic duties of the preventive maintenance operator, the wheel checker, and the material handler in the event of absence.
Monitors and correct any quality issues in machining
Coordinate and help contain any defect wheels.
Operates and maintains Buffer system
Performs other duties as assigned by the Front Line Leader and/or department supervisor.

Qualifications:

Six (6) months or more of related machining experience is preferred.
Working knowledge of department equipment and processes measured by successful completion of all prerequisite proficiency tests within a four-month period.
Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (S.P.C.) is required.
After selection, successful completion of advanced Utility Operator training modules within a two-year period following completion of prerequisite test.
Demonstrated communication/training skills, initiative, and basic leadership skills are required.
Performance evaluations with average ratings of “3” or above and an attendance record of “0” demerits or better are required to be placed in position.
Post high school education is preferred.
Ability and willingness to work any assigned shift.
Excellent vision, including color discrimination, is required.
