Benefits Manager

Remote Opportunity | Minneapolis/St. Paul Preferred

Robert Half is partnering with a growing organization to identify a Benefits Manager to join their Human Resources team. This is an exciting opportunity for a benefits professional who is ready to take ownership of a function, build strong partnerships, improve processes, and make a meaningful impact on the employee experience.

The ideal candidate is someone who has developed a strong foundation in benefits and is looking for increased ownership, visibility, and the opportunity to influence how programs are managed and improved. This role will partner closely with HR leadership, vendors, brokers, and internal stakeholders to ensure benefits programs are effectively administered, communicated, and aligned with the needs of a growing organization.

This is an individual contributor role with ownership of the benefits function. While there is no direct team management responsibility today, this role offers the opportunity to grow in scope and influence as the organization continues to expand.

About the Opportunity

The organization is a growing, multi-state employer with a large operational workforce. As the company continues to scale, they are investing in their HR infrastructure and creating dedicated ownership around benefits and employee experience initiatives.

The Benefits Manager will oversee the day-to-day administration and ongoing improvement of employee benefit programs while also identifying opportunities to enhance communication, employee engagement, recognition efforts, wellbeing initiatives, and the overall employee experience.

This position is remote; however, candidates located in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area or Midwest region are preferred. The HR team comes together in person a few times per year for collaboration and team meetings.

Key Responsibilities
Own the administration and ongoing improvement of employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, voluntary benefits, and related programs
Manage relationships with benefits brokers, vendors, carriers, and external partners to ensure strong service delivery and program effectiveness
Lead annual open enrollment planning, communication, employee education, system readiness, and execution
Partner with HR, payroll, and internal teams to ensure accurate eligibility, enrollment, deductions, and employee data
Conduct benefits audits, reporting, and issue resolution to support accuracy and compliance
Serve as a resource for employees and leaders by providing clear, accessible benefits information and support
Translate complex benefits information into employee-friendly communications and resources
Evaluate current programs and recommend improvements based on employee feedback, utilization, and business needs
Support employee experience initiatives, including recognition programs, service awards, wellbeing efforts, and other engagement opportunities
Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance communication, and create a stronger employee experience as the organization grows

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Benefits Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered
5+ years of experience in benefits, total rewards, HR operations, or a related HR function
Experience administering employee benefit programs within a multi-state workforce
Experience partnering with benefits vendors, brokers, carriers, and external partners
Strong project management skills with the ability to lead initiatives such as open enrollment and employee programs
Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and take ownership of responsibilities
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage confidential information and competing priorities
Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships across employees, leaders, vendors, and HR partners
Self-motivated, curious, and proactive with a mindset focused on continuous improvement
