Insurance Verification & Patient Care Coordinator

What You'll Be Doing

Your primary responsibility will be ensuring patients' insurance benefits are accurately verified before treatment. Hilltop Dental serves a large number of patients with Minnesota Medicaid and other state-sponsored insurance programs, making accuracy, attention to detail, and compliance essential to the success of our practice and the care we provide.

You'll also support the Patient Care Coordinator and front office team by:

Verifying dental and medical insurance eligibility, benefits, frequencies, and limitations
Reviewing Minnesota Medicaid/state insurance benefits and payer guidelines
Identifying coverage concerns before appointments and communicating them clearly to the team
Documenting insurance information accurately and maintaining compliance with office protocols
Supporting treatment planning by providing accurate benefit information
Greeting patients warmly and creating a welcoming first and last impression
Answering phones, emails, and text messages professionally and efficiently
Assisting with scheduling, financial arrangements, and patient communication as needed
Helping keep the day organized and supporting the clinical team

Insurance benefits are verified accurately before scheduled appointments.
Patients receive clear, reliable information about their insurance coverage and financial responsibility prior to scheduled appointments.
Scheduling disruptions caused by insurance issues are minimized.
The clinical team can focus on patient care because the details have already been handled.
You consistently look for ways to improve processes and support your teammates without waiting to be asked.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who has both the skills and the mindset to thrive in this role.

The ideal candidate:

Has dental front office experience and insurance verification experience
Has experience with Minnesota Medicaid or other state dental insurance
Is exceptionally organized and detail-oriented
Takes ownership, notices what needs to be done, and doesn't wait for direction
Communicates clearly and professionally with patients, teammates, and insurance companies
Enjoys solving problems and researching insurance benefits
Remains positive, calm, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment
Shares our commitment to serving others with kindness and excellence

Experience with dental practice management software and treatment planning is a plus.
