Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join our purchasing team. In this role, you will support the sourcing, purchasing, and inventory management processes. Your experience in using ERP systems and vendor communication will help ensure timely ordering of materials and services, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of our organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in supply chain management while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Issue purchase orders as needed and ensure timely receipt of vendor acknowledgements.
Review and record vendor acknowledgements in the system and update delivery dates accordingly to maintain accurate order tracking.
Review, evaluate, and process contracts, urgent requests, and change orders to ensure compliance, accuracy, and timely execution.
Analyze ERP system weekly reports using data review and analytical skills to support operational decision-making. Knowledge of Business Central a plus.
Accelerate fulfillment of overdue orders to meet delivery commitments. Identify and report any discrepancies in delivery timelines or conditions directly to the order originator and purchasing manager.
Effectively communicate pricing, delivery, or other discrepancies impacting orders to the purchasing manager.
Collaborate with purchasing manager to update vendor pricing and lead times accurately.
Aid in the return of rejected parts when required.
Observe and follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations to promote workplace safety and compliance.
Perform other duties and assignments as directed by management.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree or higher in a related field is preferred.
Administrative experience and knowledge of manufacturing business processes and practices.
Demonstrate self-direction and ownership of tasks. Expediting experience is desirable.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook.
Effective problem-solving skills. Detail oriented/sense of urgency.
Effective communication skills with peers, management, employees and vendors.
Able to work cooperatively with others to solve problems, with a willingness to assist when needed.
Knowledge of materials management, inventory control, logistics.

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
