RISE Services, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing support and care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities

There is a growing need for foster care providers that have caregiving experience and a willingness to provide person-centered care. Offering a safe and loving home for a youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities is an incredible way to follow your heart and give back to the community.

You can provide a nurturing environment where a child can thrive, and RISE Host Homes can provide guidance and support along the way. With RISE, you're not only changing their lives, but also creating a positive impact that will last a lifetime for them and for your family.

As a Host Home Parent, your goal is to develop meaningful relationships with the youth placed in your home, while creating a safe and loving environment where they can thrive.

RISE Host Homes Benefits:

Free training in Oregon Intervention Systems (OIS), CPR/First Aid, and trauma informed parenting
Ongoing coaching and support
14 - 21 overnight relief annually
24/7 on-call support
Direct Support Professionals for additional In Home Support
Contractor compensation: $1,800.00 - $3,000.00 per month

Responsibilities:

Provide a safe home for youth
Include youth in family and community activities
Utilize trauma-informed services to to help youth develop healthy relationships
Encourage interaction and independence to promote positive social behavior
Assist with daily activities, model and teach life skills
Maintain the health and safety of children and youth in your care
Administer and monitor medication, when necessary
Attend and transport youth to appointments
Be a role model and remain calm in times of stress or excitement
Provide crisis intervention and conflict resolution as needed
Document weekly progress reports and incident reports as applicable

Requirements:

Must be 21 or older.
You must be a resident of the state of Oregon.
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Must have an extra empty bedroom for the individual to have their own space.
Must be able to acquire and maintain licensing standards and requirements per Host Home OARs
