Full Job Description

Starting Wage Range: $36.01/hr. - $46.31/hr.

Essential Functions:

Assists medical professional staff in providing medical care to patients of the medical
Assists in the management of resident patient services; adhering to regulatory principles and the oversight of policies and procedures for the care of the elder and disabled
Functions under established routines for urgent care services to provide nursing care within scope of practice.
Obtains patient intake information pertaining to visit to include chief complaint, vital signs, and
Accurately records patient information in
Assists providers in providing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including casting, suturing, wound care, and venipuncture.
Performs diagnostic testing on patients per medical provider
Maintains knowledge of sanitation, infection control, and proper
Maintains a safe and clean working environment consistent with facility and OSHA
Knowledge of emergency equipment (location, use, and maintenance) in the event of actual emergent situation.
Contact with other departments/programs to coordinate patient Coordinates patient care with other departments.
Provides phone triage to include patient inquiries regarding lab results, prescription refills, and plan of
Provides relevant health counseling and referrals for follow-up care and collaborating with other agencies involved in health care of patients.
Teaches individuals, groups and families about self-home care such as treatments, medications, nutrition, and preventive measures.
Promotes continuity of care by relevant health counseling, referrals for follow-up care, arranging for appointments and collaborating with other agencies involved in the health care of patients.
Maintains adequate supplies and equipment necessary in the nursing areas and examination rooms in a clean, sanitary and safe environment.
Assists with medical reception staff duties including patient scheduling and clinic check
Administers and documents injections per written/verbal order to include immunizations, allergy injections, other therapeutic injectable medications, and assesses patient response.
Performs a variety of other duties as assigned by

Education, Experience, and Licenses:

Requires a current Oregon LPN
A minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse with a minimum of one

(1) year experience in a clinical setting preferred.

Driving Requirements:

Employees may be required to drive for work-related purposes and must maintain a valid Oregon

Driver’s License (ODL), meet company vehicle insurance requirements, and provide proof of personal vehicle insurance.

Qualifications, Registrations, and Certifications:

Current CPR/BLS
Must be detail oriented with ability to handle high patient
Must have excellent customer service
Must have knowledge of Licensed Practical Nursing scope of
Ability to operate and maintain medical equipment within the
Must have knowledge and experience in use of computerized electronic health records and software applications.
Working knowledge of sterile technique and special procedures applicable to care
Requires working knowledge of sanitation, personal hygiene, and basic health and safety precautions applicable to health clinic setting.
Adherences to the organization’s policies and procedures covering the privacy, access, and

patient health information in compliance with Federal and state laws.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and clinic
Native American applicants preferred; knowledge of Native American culture

Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Continually requires the ability to express or receive detailed information or important instructions through oral communication.
Continually requires working with fingers rather than the whole hand or Requires repetitive movement of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Often requires walking or moving about to accomplish tasks.
Requires standing and/or sitting for sustained periods of time, raising objects from a lower to a higher position and/or moving objects horizontally.
Continually requires the use of vision, specifically close vision, color identification and depth
Frequently exposed to bodily fluids and potentially toxic
Frequently required to wear personal protective equipment such as gloves and eye
Continually required to handle soiled
Occasionally exposed to compressed gases and
Occasionally requires lifting of up to 40
This position is frequently subject to inside environmental conditions which provide protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes, and is occasionally subject to outside environmental conditions.

Supports a safe work environment by performing all duties in accordance with Tribal safety policies and procedures, and Emergency Management Plan.

Due to the nature of the interactions with other employees and the public we serve, employees may be required to provide documentation of, or receive, certain health vaccinations.
May be called upon to serve as a Disaster Reservist during emergencies.
Local travel is occasionally required. Travel outside of the state is infrequently required.
