Full Job Description

Lafky & Lafky has an immediate opening for an entry to mid-level associate to join its team! Applicants must be a current member (or soon to be) of the Oregon State Bar. We are not participating in the SPPE program at this time.

Lafky & Lafky is a well-established full service law firm located in downtown Salem, Oregon, less than one block away from the Marion County Courthouse. We pride ourselves on being creative thinkers who are committed to serving our clients, our community, and each other in smart and innovative ways.

Lafky & Lafky is currently comprised of four attorneys and three office staff. Our practice areas include employment and labor consultation and litigation; general civil litigation, criminal defense; domestic relations, probate, business and commercial formation, transactions, and litigation; professional malpractice and personal injury litigation; and appellate litigation. Minimum Qualifications:
Active membership in the Oregon State Bar in good standing;

· Strong work ethic, time management skills, and demonstrated ability to handle a heavy case load;

· Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently;

· Ability to handle a variety of matters simultaneously to meet client demands;

· Our primary current need is for an attorney to do research and writing helping with motion practice, appellate briefing and other similar work.

· Close attention to detail, superior proof-reading skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment;

· Excellent oral advocacy, research, writing, communication, and analytical ability; and

· 0-3 years of litigation experience, ideally including drafting and arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, and trial preparation.
