Summary:

Willamette Valley Pie is looking for a high-energy, service-minded leader to grow one of the most joyful parts of our business: helping schools, churches, nonprofits, teams, and community groups raise money by selling really great pie. Our fundraising program supports more than 450 groups each year across Oregon and Southwest Washington, and this role is the friendly, organized, get-it-done person who keeps those groups set up for success.

This is a remote role with meaningful schedule flexibility for the right person, but it is not a casual role during peak season. From September through Thanksgiving, our fundraising partners are moving fast, orders are flowing, questions are coming in, and the community is counting on us. The right candidate will have strong availability during that window, a calm and helpful presence under pressure, and the charisma to make every group feel like they are our most important customer.

This role blends community service, sales, operations, and brand ambassadorship. Success is not just about selling more pies; it is about making fundraising easier, more fun, and more effective for the people doing the work on behalf of their school, church, team, or cause.

This role is perfect for someone who:

· Is entrepreneurial, self-directed, and comfortable building better systems while also handling the daily details.

· Enjoys selling, coaching, problem solving, and cheering people on — sometimes all in the same phone call.

· Can stay organized across hundreds of active groups, orders, calendars, payments, delivery details, and follow-ups.

· Brings energy, warmth, humor, and professionalism to every interaction.

· Thrives in a flexible remote environment but can turn up the intensity during the September-to-Thanksgiving fundraising rush.

Key Responsibilities

· Own and grow the Willamette Valley Pie fundraising program, supporting more than 450 participating groups annually.

· Serve as the primary relationship leader for schools, churches, nonprofits, teams, and community organizations using the program.

· Recruit and onboard new fundraising groups while helping existing groups increase participation, dollars sold, and overall fundraising success.

· Coach group leaders on timelines, product selection, order collection, communication, delivery planning, and best practices for a successful campaign.

· Manage the seasonal fundraising calendar, including peak-season coordination from September through Thanksgiving.

· Respond quickly and warmly to order questions, product issues, schedule changes, and group needs, ensuring timely resolution.

· Partner with supply chain, distribution, finance, sales, and marketing to keep orders accurate, deliveries smooth, and program materials current.

· Upgrade the tools and processes that power the program, including marketing materials, automated calendaring, online order processing, payment workflows, and reporting.

· Use data to track group performance, identify growth opportunities, and improve participation and dollars sold per group.

· Assist with order, payment, and reconciliation processes to ensure accurate records and a clean customer experience.

· Represent the Willamette Valley Pie brand with enthusiasm, professionalism, and genuine care in every community interaction.

· Develop repeatable training, templates, and playbooks so the program can scale while still feeling personal and easy for each group.

Qualifications

· 3–5+ years of entrepreneurial experience running, selling, or growing products in a business environment.

· Proven ability to sell, influence, build relationships, and follow through; door-to-door sales or grassroots sales experience is a strong plus.

· Service-oriented leadership style with a genuine desire to help community groups succeed.

· Strong organization skills and the ability to manage many active customers, timelines, and details at once.

· Comfortable working remotely and independently, with high availability during the September-to-Thanksgiving peak season.

· Strong digital tool skills, including Excel, Outlook, online calendars, shared documents, and basic reporting.

· Experience with Square POS, online ordering tools, customer databases, or payment/order workflows strongly preferred.

· Excellent written, phone, and in-person communication skills with a friendly, confident, and engaging style.

· Ability to improve processes, build simple systems, and turn recurring problems into repeatable solutions.

· Prior nonprofit fundraising experience is helpful but not required; we care more about initiative, sales ability, service mindset, and follow-through.

What Success Looks Like in Year One

· Digital tools are meaningfully upgraded, including cleaner marketing materials, automated calendaring, online order processing, improved payment workflows, and better reporting.

· The program supports more fundraising groups than the prior year while maintaining a friendly, responsive customer experience.

· Average dollars sold per group increases through better coaching, clearer materials, stronger follow-up, and smarter product recommendations.

· Peak season runs with fewer surprises because calendars, order deadlines, delivery details, and group communications are organized early and managed daily.

· Community partners feel supported, appreciated, and excited to work with Willamette Valley Pie again.

· The fundraising program has clearer playbooks, training resources, and repeatable systems that allow it to scale without losing the personal touch.

Work Environment and Schedule

This is a remote role with a high degree of schedule flexibility for the right self-starter. That flexibility comes with seasonal intensity: September through Thanksgiving is the busiest and most important fundraising period of the year, and candidates must have strong availability during that window, including occasional evenings or weekends when group needs, order deadlines, or delivery schedules

require it. Some local travel may be needed for community meetings, program support, or brand representation.
