Job Overview

The Peer Support Specialist plays a key role in maintaining a safe, structured, and recovery-focused living environment. In this role you will walk alongside individuals and balance mentorship and support with clear expectations and accountability. Working alongside residents to build life skills, reinforce recovery principles, and ensure compliance with program guidelines.

Responsibilities

Support residents in maintaining a healthy, substance-free living environment
Uphold house program expectations in a consistent and fair manner,
Facilitate weekly house meetings and monthly Unity Nights
Conduct move-in intakes, one-on-one support sessions, urinalysis (UA) testing, and maintain accurate, timely documentation.
Assist residents in accessing employment, housing, treatment, and community resources
Communicate with Community Partners including probation officers, DHS, treatment providers, and court systems as required
Always maintain professional boundaries

Requirements

Certification as a Peer Support Specialist or Certified Recovery Mentor is required.
Experience in crisis intervention, crisis management, or behavioral health settings is preferred.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Familiarity with documentation purposes is highly desirable.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating independence in client interactions.

Qualifications

Certified Peer Support Specialist (PSS) or Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM) (required)
Minimum of 2 years in personal recovery
Experience supporting individuals in recovery or related field preferred
Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and current insurance
Basic computer and documentation skills, strong communication and relationship-building skills, including conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
Ability to always maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
