About the Position
IN PERSON ONLY
We are seeking a Land Development Project Coordinator to join our land surveying and development team in Salem, Oregon.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in land-use planning, development review, permitting, surveying, civil engineering, or real estate development who wants to take a more active role in moving projects from concept through approval and final completion.
What we are looking for is someone who understands, or can quickly learn, the land-use and development process and who is exceptionally good at keeping complicated projects organized and moving forward.
You will work directly with our professional land surveyors on projects involving land-use applications, partitions, subdivisions, property line adjustments, condominium plats, development approvals, and other land-development-related work.
Who We're Looking For
The ideal candidate has a good working understanding of land use, planning, development review, or permitting and enjoys figuring out how to get projects from one step to the next.
You should be someone who can take a complicated agency letter or approval decision, determine what needs to happen, organize the requirements, communicate with the appropriate people, and follow through until the issue is resolved.
Strong candidates will be:
- Highly organized.
- Detail-oriented.
- Comfortable managing numerous active projects at the same time.
- Strong written and verbal communicators.
- Comfortable communicating directly with government agencies and clients.
- Able to read and interpret development codes, application requirements, agency comments, and conditions of approval.
- Proactive rather than waiting to be told what to do next.
- Comfortable following up with people when information or action is outstanding.
- Able to identify when an issue requires input from a professional surveyor, engineer, planner, attorney, or other specialist.
- Interested in learning the technical side of land surveying and land development.
Preferred Qualifications
The following are beneficial but not required:
- Experience with Oregon land-use and development processes.
- Experience preparing or reviewing land-use applications.
- Experience with subdivisions, partitions, property line adjustments, or similar projects.
- Experience working with city or county planning and public works departments.
- Experience in land surveying, civil engineering, planning, architecture, development, title, or real estate.
- Experience reading zoning and development codes.
- Familiarity with GIS.
- Familiarity with Adobe.
- AutoCAD or Civil 3D experience.
Basic Civil 3D experience would be a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate to perform basic exhibit preparation and editing.

A degree in planning, geography, land development, public administration, real estate, surveying, civil engineering, or a related field is helpful but not required.
