FABCO is seeking an experienced and driven Controller to oversee the company's accounting and financial operations. This role is responsible for managing financial reporting, cash flow, job costing, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls while supporting the overall financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills who can provide accurate financial insight, drive process improvements, and partner with operations and leadership teams to support FABCO's continued growth and success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Surface Treasury & Cash Management
- Manage cash flow and liquidity to support operational and investment needs
- Maintain banking relationships, oversee debt financing, and optimize treasury functions
- Monitor payment terms, aging reports, collections, and vendor accounts to ensure effective cash management
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and analyze financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and budget-to-actual reports
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and cost-saving opportunities
- Oversee KPI monitoring, WIP schedules, job projections, and audited financial statements
- Prepare financial presentations and provide data-driven insights to executive leadership
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the Company's financial position and performance
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Manage full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Oversee company credit cards, receipt tracking, and accurate job cost allocation
- Allocate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs to appropriate job codes
- Review bank draws, change orders, pay applications, lien rights, and month-end/year-end closing activities
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records
- Prepare budget-to-actual reports, quarterly filings, and support year-end tax processes
Compliance & Internal Controls
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, financial regulations, tax requirements, and licensing requirements
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard Company assets and ensure financial accuracy
- Track and maintain Company business licenses, registrations, and related compliance requirements
- Lead audit preparation activities and coordinate with external auditors
- Ensure compliance with prevailing wage requirements, as applicable
Leadership & Process Improvement
- Supervise and support accounting staff while promoting accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Oversee equipment and fixed asset management, including asset tracking and depreciation schedules
- Implement and improve accounting processes, financial systems, and reporting capabilities
- Work closely with Operations and Project Management teams to align financial goals with business strategy and improve profitability
EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- CPA and/or CCIFP certification preferred
- 5+ years of accounting leadership experience in construction, manufacturing, fabrication, or a similar industry
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, cash flow management, budgeting, forecasting, and job costing
- Experience managing full-cycle accounting operations and financial statements
- ERP/accounting software experience required; Vista experience is a plus
- Proven leadership, organizational, and analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively with leadership and operations teams

Pay: $90,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
