JOB SUMMARY:

The Reservations Department is a fun and exciting way to join the ski industry and the Monarch family. This department is an upbeat, energetic environment that provides opportunities to earn while still getting to play in the mountains. The Guest Experience Manager - Reservations position is responsible for all facets of the Monarch Mountain Reservations Department, ensuring the processing and fulfillment of all Monarch Mountain individual reservations over the phone, online or by walk-up, to include inquiries.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

The Guest Experience Manager - Reservations responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Be an effective leader within the guidelines of department and company policies, procedures and values, in fulfillment of Monarch’s mission statement to “provide our guests with a quality, personalized mountain experience.”
Ensure all forms, tracking, verifications and necessary documenting are executed and accurately completed in a timely manner. This includes, though not limited to requests, training, payroll, timekeeping, fiscal responsibilities, and disciplinary actions.
Perform the seasonal hiring and termination of approximately 8-15 department employees and the scheduling of said staff.
Oversee the initial and ongoing training of departmental staff.
Provide timely employee feedback and contribute to producing qualitative performance reviews of department staff.
Work within budgetary constraints; offer input for next season’s budget proposal.
Work in conjunction with other departments as part of the Monarch team.
Lead in the development and maintenance of training materials, manuals, checklists and other documents necessary for the success of the department.
Escalate phone, software, computer and any other issues that impede the performance of reservations and group duties to the appropriate department; assist in the resolution of the issue as necessary.
Prepare daily workstations for Reservationists to include, though not limited to, phones, computers, banks, and software.
Prepare and maintain lobby area for guests, including kiosk, retail and surrounding area.
Complete phone, online and walk-in reservations, and record payment.
Answer phones, return calls and follow through with phone sales procedures.
Monitor and maintain the inventory and condition of department supplies, properties and facilities.
Provide professional solutions and courteous assistance in problem solving for both guests and employees. Ensure that personnel are friendly and cordial to guests, while maintaining an exceptional level of guest service.
Ensure that all calls and inquiries made to Reservations are handled in a timely fashion.
Work with accounting on daily banking practices and protocols.
Perform the maintenance of the operating bank for all Reservations windows.
Oversee all Reservations Staff to ensure successful fulfillment of all Reservation processes.
Perform start of day and close of day accounting, deposit and reporting procedures for the Reservations departments in accordance with department.
Work with Snow Sports Manager, Rental Manager and Ticket Sales Manager to provide functional sales and operational integration.
Work with Director of Guest Experience and IT Team on product development, hardware/software set up and overall IT needs.
Serve as supplemental manager for the Rentals and Sales/Ticketing department – providing oversight for daily operations, staff and customer service across all three functions.

Must be able to accurately perform cash, check, and credit card handling and processing procedures.
Must be proficient in phone sales techniques.
Possess general office skills such as answering telephones, telephone and email messages.
Is flexible with hours and days of work. Can work any hours during the business day including mornings, evenings or split shifts, and any days of the week (including weekends and holidays).
Professional demeanor and appearance.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Age: 21
Legal citizen of the United States or possess other proper work permit authentication.
A valid driver’s license and good, company insurable driving record required.
High School Diploma or GED required, college degree preferred.
Requires sitting and working at a computer for long periods of time; keying, grasping, reaching, speaking clearly and visual acuity.
Requires working at high elevation (up to 12,000’), with extended exposure to adverse weather conditions, such as severe cold, heavy snowfall, rain, strong winds and intense sun.

JOB TYPE: Full Time, Year Round

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Compensation: Proposed hiring rate starts at $60,000 annually (actual pay will be adjusted based on experience).
