Join our dynamic team as a Maintenance Technician and become a vital part of ensuring the seamless operation of our facilities. In this energetic role, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems across various locations. Your expertise will help create a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for both staff and customers. We are looking for motivated individuals with a passion for troubleshooting and hands-on problem solving to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence. We are seeking an experienced, versatile maintenance technician to support the remodel and ongoing upkeep of our boutique inn. This role begins as a full-time engagement during the renovation and pre-opening phase, then transitions to an on-call contract basis once the inn is operational. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in handyman activities and spa/wellness equipment — preferably gained in a hotel or hospitality environment — and is comfortable working independently to keep the property in top condition for guests.
Responsibilities
Phase 1 — Remodel & Pre-Opening (Full-Time)
During the remodel phase, the Technician can work full-time on-site assisting with general renovation tasks to prepare the inn for opening. This phase does not involve plumbing, electrical, or spa equipment work.
- Putting up, video cameras, door locks and getting them operational on the apps. etc
- Landscaping and outdoor cleanup — planting, mulching, edging, lawn care, and general curb appeal improvements
- Basic carpentry and finish work —shelving and fixtures
- General remodel assistance —supporting subcontractors on site as requested by owner
- Light furniture assembly and room staging as the inn prepares for guest-ready condition
- Perform punch-list walkthroughs and address outstanding finish items before opening date
Phase 2 — Ongoing Operations (On-Call / As-Needed)
Once the inn is open, the contractor will be available on an on-call basis to perform routine maintenance, seasonal servicing, and urgent repairs.
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner to minimize guest disruption. Time frame will be agreed upon at hire.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on all spa equipment and systems
- Service and maintain hot tubs/jetted tubs: water chemistry, jets, pumps, heaters, and covers
- Maintain cold plunge unit: temperature systems, filtration, and sanitation
- Service sauna: heating elements, controls, benches, ventilation, and safety checks
- Address plumbing issues: leaks, clogs, water pressure, fixtures, water heaters
- Address electrical issues: outlets, switches, lighting, breakers, and GFCI testing
- Perform seasonal maintenance tasks (winterization, filter changes, equipment checks)
- Keep a maintenance log and communicate upcoming repair needs to management
- Source parts and supplies efficiently; submit receipts for reimbursement per agreed process
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems, HVAC units, refrigeration equipment, and kitchen appliances to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and repair appliances, HVAC systems, refrigeration units, and mechanical equipment using schematics and technical manuals.
- Install new appliances, HVAC components, and mechanical systems following safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct repairs on kitchen equipment, air conditioning units, and other mechanical systems with precision and attention to detail.
- Operate company vehicles safely to transport tools, parts, or equipment between sites as needed.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service reports, and inventory records for all repairs performed.
- Collaborate with team members to identify opportunities for process improvements and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician or maintenance mechanic with a strong background in appliance repair, HVAC/R systems, refrigeration, or mechanical systems repair.
- Knowledge of schematics, technical manuals, and troubleshooting procedures for complex mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Hands-on experience with appliance installation, kitchen equipment maintenance, air conditioning systems, and HVAC technology.
- Ability to operate tools safely and efficiently; experience with company vehicle operation is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose issues quickly.
- Construction experience or familiarity with maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) practices is a plus.
- Customer service skills that enable clear communication with clients and team members alike.
- Leadership qualities that support teamwork and safety initiatives within the maintenance environment.
Strongly Preferred
- Prior maintenance experience in a hotel, inn, resort, or spa setting
- Licensed plumber or electrician, or working knowledge sufficient for minor repairs (licensed trades engaged for permitted work)
- Familiarity with local building codes and inspection requirements
- CPO (Certified Pool/Spa Operator) certification or willingness to obtain if needed
