Full Job Description

The Wire Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the daily operations of the Bank. This position is responsible for accurate and timely processing, monitoring, verification, and reconciliation of domestic and international wire transfer transactions, with a primary focus on Fedwire funds transfers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Process, verify, and release incoming and outgoing Fedwire transfers accurately and efficiently.
Monitor wire transfer activity to ensure timely completion and adherence to established procedures and service standards.
Review transactions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and operational requirements.
Identify, investigate, and resolve wire transfer discrepancies, exceptions, and processing issues.
Detect and escalate suspicious activity, potential fraud, and operational risks in accordance with established protocols.
Maintain accurate and complete records of wire transfer transactions and supporting documentation.
Perform daily balancing and reconciliation activities related to wire transfer processing.
Collaborate with internal departments and stakeholders to resolve transaction inquiries and operational issues.
Assist with the development, documentation, and enhancement of wire transfer procedures and controls.
Research and remain current on regulatory changes, payment system updates, and industry developments affecting wire transfers.
Interpret and apply applicable banking regulations, operating rules, and provisions of the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) related to wire transfer activities.
Support audits, examinations, and compliance reviews by providing requested documentation and operational information.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Regulatory and Compliance Responsibilities

Follow all applicable deposit regulations, including but not limited to:

Reg CC (Funds Availability)
Reg D (Transaction Limitations)
Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti‑Money Laundering (AML) requirements
OFAC screening and documentation
UDAAP standards for fair and transparent customer treatment

Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails for all wire transactions.
Report unusual or suspicious activity in accordance with BSA/AML guidelines.
Adhere to all established bank policies, desktop procedures, and regulatory expectations.

DESIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

General understanding of banking transactions.
High school degree or GED required
Experience with Microsoft Office 10-key machine and typing skills
Basic analytical and mathematical skills Strong attention to detail

Must be attentive to detail
Capable of managing multiple responsibilities and strict deadlines
Use critical thinking skill to identify and resolve problems independently
Utilize time management skills with the ability to adapt to changing situations
Provide outstanding internal and external customer service
