Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dental Office Receptionist to join our vibrant dental practice. In this role, you will be the friendly face and efficient coordinator at the front desk, ensuring a seamless patient experience from appointment scheduling to check-out. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help foster a welcoming environment while managing essential administrative functions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care and support the smooth operation of our dental clinic.

Duties

Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and assist with patient intake processes
Schedule appointments accurately using dental practice management software such as Dentrix
Verify insurance coverage and benefits
Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, providing clear communication and appointment confirmations
Manage patient records efficiently within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems like Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks
Process payments, medical collections, and billing using medical coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10) and medical billing procedures
Maintain accurate documentation review of treatment plans, care notes, and medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry (including 10 key typing), and maintaining organized medical records

Requirements

Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or Dental Office Receptionist with clinic or dental practice experience
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, ICD coding, CPT coding, and health information management systems
Familiarity with Dentrix
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and office management software
Ability to handle sensitive patient information in compliance with HIPAA standards
Exceptional customer service skills with effective phone etiquette and communication abilities
Bilingual skills are preferred to serve diverse patient populations effectively
Previous experience with insurance verification processes and medical administrative support is highly desirable
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks
