Position Title: Accounting Assistant – Wicomico Public Library

Position Summary

The Accounting Assistant provides accounting, payroll, and administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the Finance Department. This position is responsible for data entry, maintaining financial records, processing payroll, assisting with accounts payable and receivable functions, and serving as a backup administrative assistant when needed. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in accounting software, payroll processing software, cloud-based office suite, and office technology.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Accounting and Financial Support

Enter and maintain accurate financial data in accounting software
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
Prepare and reconcile financial records, reports, and statements.
Process invoices, payments, deposits, and expense documentation.
Maintain organized accounting files and records.
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
Assist with financial audits as needed.

Payroll Administration

Process Bi-weekly payroll and maintain payroll records using payroll software
Verify employee time records and payroll-related documentation. Assist employees with payroll-related questions.
Assist with Reception and Customer Service. Administrative Support

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
