Position Summary:
The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for overseeing all pharmacy operations, ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of medications while delivering exceptional customer service. This role manages and develops pharmacy staff, maintains regulatory compliance, drives prescription volume, and fosters strong relationships with patients, healthcare providers, and store leadership.
Key responsibilities include supervising pharmacists. pharmacy technicians, and all other pharmacy staff, resolving customer and patient’s concerns, ensuring all pharmacy associates are providing best in class customer service and healthcare, managing controllables to improve P&L performance, ensuring adherence to state and federal laws, controlling inventory, managing budgets, and implementing company policies and performance standards. The Pharmacy Manager also plays a critical role in patient counseling, growing immunization programs both inside the store and out in the community, medication therapy management, and promoting health and wellness services.
Success in this role requires strong leadership, clinical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to balance operational demands with patient care. The Pharmacy Manager serves as the face of the pharmacy, upholding professional standards, supporting store goals, and ensuring an exceptional experience for every customer.

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
· Ensures adherence to federal and state pharmacy laws, HIPAA, OSHA, and DEA regulations
· Maintains pharmacy licensing, audits, documentation, and controlled substance protocols
Staff Leadership & Development
· Coaches, trains, and evaluates pharmacists, technicians, and support staff
· Promotes teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment
· Delegates effectively and manages schedules, roles, and workload distribution
Operational Excellence & Workflow Management
· Oversee daily pharmacy operations, prescription fulfillment, and quality controls
· Optimize processes for efficiency, accuracy, and service levels
· Troubleshoot operational issues and implement continuous improvements
Inventory & Financial Management
· Manages ordering, stock levels, shrink control, and waste reduction
· Monitors budgets, reimbursement processes, and cost-saving initiatives
· Ensures formulary compliance and proper handling of high-cost medications
Patient Care & Customer Service
· Provides expert counseling, MTM services, and immunization support
· Handles escalations and ensures high levels of patient satisfaction
· Build strong relationships with patients and healthcare providers
What You Will Bring:
· Bachelor of Science in pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution
· Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of employment
· Immunization certification (e.g., APhA or state-recognized equivalent)
· Medication Therapy Management (MTM) certification where applicable
· 2–5+ years of retail pharmacy experience preferred
· Previous experience as a Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacist-in-Charge, or Lead Pharmacist
· Proven experience supervising pharmacists, technicians, and support staff
· Knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations, HIPAA, and controlled substance laws
· Experience in inventory management, budgeting, and workflow optimization
· Familiarity with third-party insurance processing and reimbursement practices
· Fast-paced retail grocery store.
· Frequent interaction with customers and team members.
· May involve exposure to varying temperatures (e.g., near entrance or refrigerated areas).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $117,000.00 - $147,100.67 per year
